WhatsApp is enhancing its video call experience by integrating Augmented Reality (AR) technology, adding more interactive features to its platform.
According to WABetaInfo, the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS now includes AR-based effects and filters for video calls. Among the new features is a dynamic facial filter that allows users to display different personalities during calls. Additionally, a background editing tool lets users blur their surroundings or replace them with preset backgrounds. To improve video quality in low-light conditions, a low-light feature has been added, and a touch-up mode is available to enhance the user’s appearance during calls.
WhatsApp will automatically save these settings, so users won’t need to adjust them for each call.
Since these features are currently in beta, it may be some time before they are rolled out to all users.
