Lauderhill: The toss for the ICC T20 World Cup match between India and Canada at Central Broward Stadium was postponed on Saturday due to a waterlogged outfield.

Despite a more favorable weather forecast for the day, certain areas of the outfield remained saturated and required attention. Both matches scheduled at the Florida venue were ultimately abandoned because of persistent rain.

Umpires were set to inspect the field at 10:30 am local time (1430 GMT), which was the originally planned start time for the Group A match. India had already qualified for the Super 8 stage, while Canada had been eliminated from contention.

The abandonment of Friday’s match between the USA and Ireland ensured that the USA secured the final Group A spot for the Super Eights, leading to Pakistan’s elimination from the tournament.Group A fixtures will conclude on Sunday with a match between Pakistan and Ireland. However, this game is now a formality, as both teams are already out of the tournament race.
