With the two of you, Miss Elizabeth Bennet is not going anywhere. She is not in her right mind. Brief Summary of the Book
Everything starts the morning following the Netherfield ball, with Darcy resolute in his decision to accompany Mr Bingley to London. In the meantime, Mrs Bennet, insane with fear over her husband’s illness, decides her stubborn second-oldest daughter MUST marry Mr Collins, who is acting even more like a doofus than average. To achieve this, she heavily doses Elizabeth’s favourite dessert with Mr Bennet’s powerful medication, making her daughter supple and utterly confused. She then helps Mr. Collins by “interpreting” her bewildered daughter’s comments. Luckily, Mr. Darcy’s valet, the knowledgeable Harwood, alerts his master to the situation, and Darcy understands that he is the only one with the knowledge and power to stop it. He gets to Longbourn just in time to see Mrs B and Mr C, who are rushing Elizabeth under the influence of drugs, toward the church, where the elderly vicar is waiting for them to perform the wedding right away. Darcy takes the woman away from the couple when it becomes clear that neither the naive husband nor the resolute bride’s mother would give in. When his carriage arrives at the ideal time, he hoists her aboard, follows her, and tells the driver to get out of there with her drowsy consent.
