Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, emphasized the importance of collective efforts to ensure food security and generate valuable foreign exchange by addressing the challenges faced by the agriculture sector. While speaking to the delegation from the 7th Civil Services Training Programme of PMS Probationers from the Training Management and Research Wing of the Services General Administration Coordination Department, Government of Sindh, he highlighted that Pakistan spends $2 billion annually on edible oil imports. He stressed the need to maximize the promotion of oilseed crops within the country.
Dr. Khan also expressed concern over the development of an olive valley in Islamabad, noting that a significant amount of money was spent on the project, despite the fact that olives are primarily used for salads rather than cooking.
